Welcome to Zigway. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we look after your personal data when you use our mobile application and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide to us, information collected automatically when you use the app, and information from third-party services we use to operate Zigway.
2.1 Location Data
Zigway is a location-based experience. We request access to your device's location services via the standard iOS permission prompt. If you grant permission, we collect:
- Precise Location Data: GPS coordinates used to determine your location and provide nearby points of interest (POIs) and context-aware narration.
- Location History and Trip Records: We store location data associated with completed tours and walks so you can view your past trips, revisit routes, access "My Walks" history, and see aggregated statistics (such as distance, duration, cities visited, and places explored). location data will also be processed during an active tour session to keep narration consistent and relevant.
- Movement Signals: Approximate speed/direction signals derived from location changes to optimize timing and content delivery.
You can control location access at any time in iOS Settings. If you do not grant location permission (or later revoke it), Zigway will not be able to provide real-time narration.
2.2 Personal Information
We may collect:
- Account Information: Name and email address.
- Support Information: The content of messages you send to support and related metadata.
2.3 Device and Usage Information
We automatically collect certain information about your device and how you use Zigway:
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, language, and device identifiers.
- Usage Data: Feature interactions, screens viewed, session duration, error/crash diagnostics, and performance metrics.
2.4 Preferences and Interests
To personalize your experience, we collect preferences in two ways:
- Explicit Preferences: Preferences you provide during onboarding and within the app (for example, language and interest categories such as architecture, history, food, and culture).
- Inferred Preferences: We may infer preferences from your in-app activity (for example, the types of POIs you interact with or tours you complete) to improve personalization.
- Tour history and favorite locations
- Feedback and ratings
2.5 Payments and Subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may receive confirmation of successful payments and subscription status.
2.6 Advertising and Marketing Data
Zigway may show ads. Advertising partners may collect or receive certain device identifiers and usage signals to measure ad performance and deliver relevant ads.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Provide the Service: Generate real-time narration and surface relevant POIs based on your location and preferences.
- Personalization: Customize content to match your preferences and interests
- Improving the Service: Monitor performance, debug issues, and improve features, content, and reliability.

4. AI and Data Processing
Zigway uses various internal and third party services including artificial intelligence services to generate tour narration. Your location data and preferences are processed by our AI systems to create personalized content. The AI processing includes:
- Real-time location analysis to identify points of interest.
- Content generation based on historical, cultural data, user location context, and user preferences.
- Personalization algorithms that learn from your interests
- Voice Generation:Language processing to deliver narration in your preferred language
All AI processing is done in accordance with this privacy policy and your data rights.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data as described below to operate Zigway, provide features, and support analytics and advertising.
5.1 Service Providers and Partners
We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our application:
- Cloud Hosting and Storage: To host our services and store application data for e.g Google's services.
- Analytics: We use Google Analytics and/or similar analytics services to understand app usage and improve Zigway.
- Location: For location data, places data etc (for example, Google Places).
- AI Services: To generate narration text, voice, and other location and usage analysis (for example Google AI APIs).
- Advertising Partners: For ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention (for example, Google and Meta advertising platforms).
- Payments: App Store billing and subscription management.
These third parties are required to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify, consistent with this policy.
5.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests from public authorities.
5.3 Business Transfers
If Zigway is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of its business or assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide Zigway and for legitimate business or legal purposes.
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active.
- Session Location/Route: Location and route data are processed during an active session. Where a tour or walk is completed or saved, relevant location data may be retained to support features such as trip history, saved tours, and aggregated statistics.
- Saved Tours: Retained until you delete your account.
- Inferred Preferences: Retained to support personalization and can be reset by deleting your account.
- After Account Deletion: Most data is deleted or anonymized within 30 days; limited data may be retained longer if required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or security.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, and may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
- Portability: Request transfer of your data to another service.
- Objection: Object to certain processing. Where you exercise this right, we will cease further processing of the relevant data from the date your request is acknowledged, unless we have compelling legitimate grounds or a legal obligation to continue the processing.
- Restriction: Request restriction of processing. Once your request is acknowledged, we will restrict processing of the relevant data unless continued processing is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect rights, or for other permitted lawful purposes.
- Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent where we rely on it.

8. Location Data Control
Location access is controlled by iOS. You can manage permissions in your device settings, including whether Zigway can access your location while using the app or in the background (if enabled).
Note: Disabling location services will significantly limit Zigway functionality.
9. Advertising and Analytics Choices
Zigway uses analytics SDKs and may use advertising SDKs. Zigway uses these services to help us understand usage patterns and improve the service

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Access controls and least-privilege access
- Secure authentication systems
- Monitoring, logging, and regular security updates
- Restricted access to personal data
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Zigway is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
